The town of Camp Verde is located in the
Verde Valley and is best known as a retirement area because of its mild climate
year-around. Attractions include the Montezuma Castle National Monument and
Montezuma Well, Fort Verde State Historic Park, and the Verde Hot Springs.
Montezuma Castle
was built and inhabited by the native Anasazi centuries ago.

VERDE HOT SPRINGS
A resort that reputedly
was a place where Al Capone hid out during the 1930's had a small structure next to the
Verde River to hold the mineral water from this natural hot springs. The resort
burned down years ago, but the pools remain in use today.
